Bose Quietcomfort 15 Review

Today I wanted to go over the Bose Quietcomfort 15, as far as noise cancelling these are leading in the field and have been the big boy’s for awhile now.  Depending on what you want you might want these or you might prefer something different.  I’ll go over the pros and cons of these headphones.

I wasn’t the biggest fan of Bose for awhile but they hit a home run with some of their headphones, this is one and for noise cancelling I don’t think you will find better.

Bose Quietcomfort 15

Do you want more noise cancellation than audio quality? That’s something to think about.  If you aren’t an audiophile and can’t notice every little thing and want the best noise cancelling than go with these I would say.  If you’re an audiophile and want quality over a little less noise cancelling I would go with the Sennheiser PXC 450.

Both are great headphones and the differences are minimal but they’re still good to take into consideration if you are going to spend that money for quality headphones.

These Bose acoustic headphones have made a lot of improvements and this model is better than the others.  They cancel noise better, they sound better and they’re more comfortable.  I have been trying these headphones since the beginning and these gave me faith in Bose again.  The QC15’s are also integrated with some iphone technology if you have an iphone.  They make it easy to answer calls with these headphones. The battery life is also better and allow for rechargeable batteries for the active noise cancellation.

Bose Quietcomfort 15 Frequency Response

Unfortunately Bose doesn’t give out their frequency response like a lot of other manufactures but there have been different tests on these headphones by independent people.  The test are kind of all over the place, some say it performed well with lower tones and base and didn’t do as great with higher frequency’s.   It’s hard to say without an official test but we can take away from the overall reviews of the headphones from professionals and average customers.

Bose Quiet Comfort 15 Review Conclusion

If you want the best noise cancellation I would seriously consider these, Bose has put most of it’s effort into creating the best noise cancellation around.  If you don’t really notice the smaller details like audiophiles then these are perfect for you.  Don’t get me wrong that sound great and are great quality, it’s hard to notice any difference if you’re not trained to pick out the small things.    I would have to say these are my favorite headphones as far as pure noise cancellation.

Sennheiser PXC 450 vs Bose Quiet Comfort 15

Best Noise Cancelling Headphones Under $500

The overall conclusion for many professionals and consumers alike are that these are both great headphones but depending on what you’re looking for in noise cancelling, one is better than the other. Below I listed some thoughts on what you prefer more and what headphones would match what you’re looking for.

Sennheiser PXC 450

Best Headphones

Retail: $449.95

Headroom Price: $349.95

If you’re going for a little more sound quality and a little less noise cancellation go with these.   Also most reviewers say these don’t warm your ears up as much as the Bose do.  The consensus is that these are also built more sturdy and feel like a better quality product.    These are still great at noise cancellation just not as well as the Bose are.  So if you’re going for a better sounding headphone in the noise cancellation category, I would go with these.

-Far Superior Sound Quality Than Bose

-Built Better Than Bose

-Comfortable and Portable

-Little less noise cancellation than Bose

-Not as much bass-Although you can solve that with messing with the volume and eq settings if that’s what you want.

Bose QuietComfort 15

Headroom Price $349

Bose invented noise cancellation and they have continually pushed the technology in this area.  If you want slightly better noise cancellation go with these, if you don’t mind sacrificing on the sound quality and product quality go with these.  If you fly a lot, work in loud areas or just want the best noise cancellation available these win but not by much. Overall the Sennheiser PXC 450’s are better for sound quality even with a slightly lower cancellation but it’s hardly noticeable.

-Best Noise Cancelling

-Good Sound Quality

-Not as good of sound quality as the PXC 450

-Not Made as well as the PXC 450

-Can heat up a little more when used for extended periods of time
